I know, for those of you who may not have tried this fad (and it has been the "in" dietary fad for a while now), it sounds gross. I thought that too . . . then I tried it and now I'm a convert! And what better time to try a green smoothie than March 1st, with St. Paddy's Day around the corner? So pick yourself up a bag of spinach, pull out the blender, and drink up!
This recipe is courtesy of my sister Kristin, and I don't know where she got it, but it's a winner for sure . . .
Green Goodness Smoothie
1 banana (frozen is best)
1 Tablespoon peanut butter
3/4 cup milk (any variety thereof, cow's/rice/soy)
1/2 cup plain yogurt (I use Greek or regular)
2 cups spinach
Blend away, and bottoms up!

Another greenalicious smoothie is:
1banana, 1/2 avocado (hello creamy without the dairy and hello good fat for plumping your little one), 1 cup of spinach, and I usually use frozen fruit blends like mango, peaches, strawberries and pineapple (but I've come across Aldi's that has this fantastic blend for only $1.99 a bag and avocadoes for 89cents so we have been drinking MANY smoothies around here! Anyway, you can put any fruit in that you want, but like I said this is a dairy free one and a little less fat ;) But really you can add blueberries or whatever fruit you want. Its the only way we get anything green in C1's diet for sure! But we are in to eating carrots and ants on a log (celery with ants) not sure Sophia would dig the eating ants part, but you know C1! ;)
Okay, I just posted a comment that was longer than your blog post...That's just wrong! But you'll forgive me in a couple days ;)
